Update... Update... Update... Update... Update... Update... NCPP Participates in Earth Day Starbucks Corp. Pledges Donation to Group Members of the NCPP were among those who picked up litter, spruced up parks, and planted flowers on April 19 as part of Nutley's Project Earth Day event, which drew an estimated 500-plus residents outside to help clean up the township. Starbucks corporation, as part of its Make Your Mark project, has pledged a $1,000 donation to the NCPP. Starbucks employees organize projects like park cleanups, AIDS walks, and other community events, while the corporation donates $10 per volunteer hour worked at the event, to a maximum of $1,000. The NCPP thanks Starbucks for its generous contribution to the organization and, thus the community. We are proud to be working with the Nutley Starbucks team and look forward to a sustained, ongoing partnership.
The Event Specifically, the areas concentrated on by NCPP members during the Earth Day cleanup included the railroad tracks and surrounding space near Whitford Avenue and Highfield Lane as well as the railroad area near Franklin Avenue and High Street. Members also hope to perform a planting in those areas as well to beautify these public areas. Local business owner Mike Martin, who volunteered as a team leader during the Earth Day event, purchased landscape gravel which was placed in the area of Franklin and High Street, under the railroad trestle. The NCPP wishes to thank all the members who made it out that day for their hard work and dedication to the community! |
